Seattle Gum Wall At Pike Place Market

If you've ever been to the famous Gum Wall in Seattle's Pike Place Market you'll probably agree it's a little gross and the last thing you want to do is lean up against it but it's a fun Seattle landmark and a tradition that's been kept alive since 1991. The wall is in an alleyway by the Market Theater and the story is that theater-goers started sticking their gum to the wall as they waited in line.

While standing there in the alley, chewing gum and people watching we got caught up in the spirit of the place and decided to giveaway a few Bubble Gum Tomboy Tees.

These two ladies scored our free shirts and happily posed with their new bubblegum swag.

In keeping with the local tradition our already-been-chewed (ABC) gum got added to Seattle's Gum Wall before we left.

Exercise Is A Remedy For Fatigue

It’s not a secret that regular exercise will give you more strength, less fat and lowered stress. But research shows that exercise also boosts our energy levels as well as our mood, both of which contribute to our overall health and well-being.

We tend to create our own hurdles when it comes to exercising regularly especially if we're feeling sluggish, tired, and sleepy, but a simply low-intensity workout is the perfect remedy for that. When you just don't have any energy to do what you need to do, skip the extra cups of coffee and hours of sleeping in, and head outside for a walk or bike ride. It'll perk you right up!

Adventure Has No Rules

Adventure can be found every day. It doesn't always have to be a big event. It can be as easy as hiking a trail you've never been on before, skinny dipping or riding your bike to work. Remove limits from your mind. Stop saying you don’t have time or money. Instead, figure out how to spend those commodities a little bit differently. There are no rules for adventure. It's all about just getting out there, exploring and having fun!




Strong Is The New Pretty

When we saw the cover of this book we were hooked! The cover picture is of the author's daughter, Ella (age 9), and she says "I was really scared for my first triathlon. My mom took this shot of me the night before and told me that even though I was afraid to race, to try to look tough and fearless. I did, and when my mom showed me this shot, it made me believe I could be as tough as I look."

Beautiful, right? The photos in this book are full of great teaching moments and truly show beauty in strength. It's a must read for all!

Workout At Home

No more excuses. If it's rainy and cold outside you can do this indoor workout in the comfort of your home and no weights are needed. Just you and your will power.

Warm-up: Run in place and do arm circles for a couple of minutes to raise your heart rate and get blood pumping to your muscles.

Cool-down: Stretch your muscles by doing some toe touches. Also raise your arms up and bend from side to side. Keep stretching until your heart rate comes down.
